Sharjah private schools considering options for next academic year

Schools in the UAE are set to reopen on August 30 - and private educators in Sharjah are weighing up options for what that will look like.

The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) is looking at three proposals submitted by schools in the emirate.

The first will see distance learning continue if coronavirus is not under control by the end of August, while the second will combine direct and virtual education, with 50 percent of the schools’ workforce returning.

The third proposal will see students return to their schools, with the implementation of controls and procedures to ensure their safety.

The proposals were discussed in a remote meeting with the board of directors of private schools in the emirate.
