Sharjah malls, salons and restaurants can now reopen

Sharjah's malls, salons and restaurants are now able to reopen with strict rules and regulations to protect the public.

The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) announced that the commercial establishments will be allowed to reopen between noon and 9pm daily.

Visitors to malls will be temperature checked at the entrance, and must stay at least two metres away from other customers. Customers and employees will be expected to wear a mask.

The capacity of the mall as a whole must not exceed 30 percent, and stores will be sanitized regularly.

Fitting rooms will be open, but any clothes must be sterilised and not returned to the shop floor for at least two hours.

Restaurants will also be allowed to open, but with a limit of up to four people per table and the total capacity must not exceed 30 percent.

Single-use cutlery must be used, and there will need to be at least two metres between each table.

New measures have been introduced in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Sharjah.
