Sharjah launches virtual volunteer initiative to help the elderly

A virtual volunteer initiative has launched in Sharjah that will see people chatting with the elderly before Iftar time.

The Sharjah Social Services Department hopes the Barakat Al Dar campaign will support the older residents in care homes and spread happiness and joy among them.

Volunteers will need to give up two hours of their time to take part in the initiative, which is hosted via Microsoft Team.

If you’d like to take part in the initiative this Ramadan, you can sign up here

Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion, expressed her happiness at the resumption of the initiative.
