We love checking out brand-new places here at Time Out, and we can't wait to see the newcomers to the scene in October. From the UAE's highest restaurant to a brand-new entertainment destination and cool rooftop pool bar, here are three new restaurants opening in October.
The UAE’s highest restaurant is opening in October in Ras Al Khaimah. Ras Al Khaimah’s Jais Adventure Peak is set to open 1484 by Puro, located at a height 1,484 metres above sea level. Imagine the views. Opening on Thursday October 1, the brand-new restaurant is located next to the Jais Adventure Centre, and fittingly has sky-high views of the peaks and valleys of the Hajar Mountains. Named after the actual height of the restaurant, the venue’s interiors feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows to offer gusts the best sights of the mountains, from morning until sunset. As for its menu, expect dishes inspired by the Arabian Gulf, made with fresh locally sourced ingredients.

New entertainment hub Brass Monkey will soon be opening its doors at Bluewaters Dubai, with two floors featuring two restaurants, bars and plenty of activities. Opening on Thursday October 1, the all-new fully-licensed destination will have retro video games, 12 bowling lanes, VR racing simulators, pool and snooker, air hockey, shoot-hoops and more to come. It will also be a new place for live music and DJs, and there will even be a booth for temporary tattoos.

Brand-new rooftop pool bar and hangout Missippi’s Pool Bar & Social Hub is set to open its doors next month, and it comes from the minds of nightlife and beach club experts Candypants and LIVIT Hospitality Management. Set to launch on Friday October 9, the new poolside hangout located on the rooftop of Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai aims to bring an ’urban oasis’ to the city. Missippi’s comes with a mixture of inspirations, blending Bali’s colourful cafés with a touch of Tulum’s tropics and the artsy décor of Miami. Designed by Arcadia Design Studio, expect modern décor with earthy-wooden cabanas, green flora, spacious lounge interiors and quite the pink colour scheme. There will be an expert mixologist whipping up unique mixed drinks, along with international hops and grape to choose from. As for food, expect dishes from around the globe, from breakfast and dinner to small bites.
Opening Fri Oct 9. Sat-Wed 6am-1am, Thu-Fri 6am-3am. Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road www.missippisdxb.com (055 269 7351).
