Budget airline launches new route from Sharjah to Amritsar

Visiting northwest India is about to get easier – and a lot cheaper – after budget airline IndiGo announced a new route between Sharjah and Amritsar.

The budget-friendly carrier will take passengers between the emirate and Amritsar from October 1 onwards.

The daily flight will leave Amritsar at 11.35am (UTC+5.30), and arrive at 1.35pm (UTC+4), and leave Sharjah at 2.35pm, arriving in Amritsar at 7.40pm.

IndiGo is now the only airline to offer direct flights between Sharjah and Amritsar.

The airline said in a statement: “This is IndiGo's second flight from Amritsar connecting a destination in the UAE (United Arab Emirates), after the launch of the flight to Dubai last year.”

According to the IndiGo website, a one-way saver fare from Sharjah to Amritsar will cost Dhs354, while the flight from Amritsar to Sharjah is Dhs371.
